Receptor
IL-4Rα
IL-4 receptor alpha chain: shared subunit between Type I (IL-4Rα/γc → IL-4 only, haematopoietic cells) and Type II (IL-4Rα/IL-13Rα1 → IL-4 and IL-13, non-haematopoietic cells including epithelium and smooth muscle).
Also called: IL-4 receptor alpha, CD124

In short
- 1What it is: a receptor in molecules and receptors.
- 2How it connects: acts on 1 and is affected by 1 concepts — mostly 1 pathway, 1 therapy.
- 3Where it sits: signalling, target on the 15-step immune chain.
What it does
DUPILUMAB (anti-IL-4Rα) blocks both IL-4 and IL-13 simultaneously via Type II receptor → broadest biologic indication (AD, asthma, CRSwNP, EoE, prurigo nodularis, COPD T2); conjunctivitis SE (10-28%) = IL-4/13 regulate ocular goblet cells → mechanistic prediction
