Receptor
TNFR2
TNF receptor with strong context dependence in immune regulation and tissue responses.
Also called: TNF receptor 2, TNFR2, CD120b, p75 TNFR

In short
- 1What it is: a receptor in molecules and receptors.
- 2How it connects: acts on 1 and is affected by 1 concepts — mostly 1 molecule, 1 pathway.
- 3Where it sits: signalling, consequence on the 15-step immune chain.
What it does
Immune cell expression + CARDIOMYOCYTES; no death domain; TRAF2→NF-κB → survival/proliferation of Tregs; cardioprotective via TNFR2 → absolute contraindication for anti-TNF in CHF NYHA III-IV (TNFR2 cardioprotection abolished); prefers membrane-bound TNF → etanercept (TNFR2-Fc decoy) cannot engage membrane TNF → lower TNFR2 activity change
