Receptor
TLR7
Endosomal sensor for single-stranded RNA.
Also called: toll-like receptor 7, TLR7

In short
- 1What it is: a receptor in molecules and receptors.
- 2How it connects: acts on 1 and is affected by 2 concepts — mostly 1 cell, 1 pathway, 1 therapy.
- 3Where it sits: trigger, recognition, failure on the 15-step immune chain.
What it does
Endosomal ssRNA sensor; pDC TLR7 → IFN-α; SLE pathogenesis: NET DNA/RNA complexes → TLR7/9 → massive IFN-α → interferon signature; HCQ alkalinises endosomes → TLR7/9 blockade → reduces pDC IFN-α (mechanism of HCQ in SLE)
