Tissue
Lymph node
Site of antigen presentation and lymphocyte activation.
Also called: lymph node, draining lymph node, secondary lymphoid organ
Sparsely connected — only 1 link recorded so far.

In short
- 1What it is: a tissue in cells and organs.
- 2How it connects: acts on 0 and is affected by 1 concepts — mostly 1 cell.
- 3Where it sits: recognition, response on the 15-step immune chain.
What it does
Antigen presentation hub: DC migrates from tissue to lymph node paracortex → encounters naive T cell (1/10^4-6 frequency); immunological synapse formation; GC in cortical follicles → B cell affinity maturation; without lymph nodes (surgical dissection, genetic asplenia) → severely impaired T cell priming
