Disease
ANCA vasculitis
ANCA (anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody) IgG produced by B cells: anti-PR3 (cytoplasmic ANCA, GPA) or anti-MPO (perinuclear ANCA, MPA).
Also called: GPA, MPA, granulomatosis with polyangiitis, microscopic polyangiitis, AAV, anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody vasculitis

In short
- 1What it is: a disease in diseases and immunopathology.
- 2How it connects: acts on 1 and is affected by 1 concepts — mostly 1 pathway, 1 biomarker.
- 3Where it sits: failure, disease on the 15-step immune chain.
What it does
RAVE TRIAL (2010/FDA 2011): rituximab vs cyclophosphamide induction → CR 64% vs 53%; ANCA titres undetectable in 90% of rituximab responders → proved B cell→ANCA→neutrophil chain is causal; rituximab superior for relapsing disease.
