Cell
Th17 cell
Barrier defence and inflammatory responses; supports neutrophil-associated immunity.
Also called: Th17 cell, T helper 17

In short
- 1What it is: a cell in cells and organs.
- 2How it connects: acts on 5 and is affected by 3 concepts — mostly 2 cell, 3 molecule, 1 disease.
- 3Where it sits: response, failure, target on the 15-step immune chain.
What it does
IL-17A → neutrophil recruitment, keratinocyte hyperproliferation; AS entheseal inflammation; IBD mucosal; RORγt master TF; maintained by IL-23 (not IL-6+TGF-β which generates Th17, IL-23 renews them); absolute contraindication: anti-IL-17A worsens active IBD (IL-17A essential for gut epithelial tight junctions)
